Thanks for stopping by.
My name is Simone Belamour and I offer corrective exercise and weight loss programs for clients who are sixty and older, have BMIs of twenty-five and higher, are recovering from a stroke, or have other special considerations.
Each of these areas requires a different mindset and approach than training for athletic competition. If you choose to work with me, you can expect to have fun while safely challenging your body in a way that improves your daily life. I am an NASM certified personal trainer and have taken special courses to help me support the clients I serve.
I get that life can be overwhelming sometimes and that it seems like the only way to get enough time to sleep is to neglect other aspects of your self-care. My own BMI changes according to various life circumstances and health issues, so you don’t need to worry about judgment from me.
Here are just a few circumstances that people have been in that have led them to work with me. If you resonate with what any of these clients were going through, chances are that you are in the right place.
Huffing and puffing just to go up a flight of stairs, after working full time and rushing home to take care of a parent with dementia for several years.
Never lost the baby weight after bringing a few little darlings into the world and wavering about whether to go to a high school reunion.
Used to have a physical job and took a better paying job that required sitting with clients all day and even going out to dinner and drinks with clients.
Stopped riding a bike everywhere after an accident that resulted in some broken vertebrae.
Stopped swimming after getting a frozen shoulder that came back after being treated twice already with physical therapy.
Quit smoking and gained over 40 pounds despite efforts to eat less.
Have always had a BMI of 30 or higher and are now trying to get active due to becoming pre-diabetic.
The main thing to keep in mind, is that your size or shape is not as important as your health. You may or may not have a goal to reduce your BMI, but if feeling better so you can enjoy your life more is what you are after, then there is no time like the present to get started.

Strength and Balance Training
As we age we need to keep up our muscle mass and balance to retain our independence and prevent falls that can lead to hospital visits and hip replacements.

Aerobic activity is important, and at the same time it is important to build your stamina over time to avoid setbacks.

Enhancing Mobility
Mobility can be a challenge for many reasons, especially so if you are recovering from a stroke. Learning how to move in new ways can improve your quality of life even if you need to adjust to a new baseline.
